Freida Pintohas kept her relationship with her husband Cory Tran fairly private.
OnThe Kelly Clarkson Showin 2021, she opened up abouthow the pair first met, revealing that her costar fromThe Path,Aaron Paul, was the one to introduce them.
Pintotold Clarksonthat she was enjoying single life while filming the show in New York when Paul told her, “I want you in my life forever, Freida, so I’m going to introduce you to my friend.”
And though Pinto was unsure about Paul playing matchmaker at first, she continued: “But he still did it, and turns out I got engaged to Cory, his friend.”
The couple went on to get engaged in 2019, elope in 2020 and welcome a child in 2021.

“It all makes sense now,”Pinto wrote on Instagramafter the proposal. “Life makes sense, the world makes sense, the past tears and trials make sense, what wise old lovers said about love makes sense, where I am makes sense and where I want to go completely makes sense.”
“You my love are just the most beautiful creation to have ever walked into my life,” she continued. “And you are here to stay. Well, I am making you stay. Ha! 😂 All my love with all my heart ♥️.”
According to Tran’s Instagram, the engagement happened on Nov. 21, 2019, which happens to be his birthday. “The best birthday present I could’ve asked for,” Tran wrote as his caption.
They secretly eloped during the pandemic
When Clarkson asked how wedding planning was going, Pinto broke the news. “We’re already married! It’s a very romantic story if you must know,” she said while giggling. “When we got engaged we thought we’d have this most magical wedding.”
Pinto continued, “But then COVID happened, and it’s still happening, and we just realized we’d be planning this for the rest of our lives and never doing it. So we decided one day to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim.”
The actress concluded, “It was absolutely perfect. We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap.”
“The world — and their filming schedules — hit pause [during the pandemic]. I think a lot of us during the pandemic got either really far away from people or got really close to people,” Berk said in a2021 interview withArchitectural Digest, “And Cory and Freida were two people I got really, really close to.”
The couple even convinced Berk to renovate her Los Angeles bungalow for them. At first, he resisted, but after a bit, the two of them wore him down, and the results were better than anything the couple could have imagined.
“I’m not even just saying this to you because there’s an article you have to write,” Pinto toldArchitectural Digest, “But I’ve literally texted Cory almost every day to say we couldn’t have done better with buying this house, and with the way it was designed, because I truly feel at home.”
He and Pinto share one son together
In November 2021, the couple welcomed their son Rumi-Ray. Both parents proudly showcased their newborn onInstagramwith heartfelt tributes.
“Happy Birthday Dada Cory! I celebrate you my husband, friend and partner in life. To see you become not just a Dad but Super-Dad makes me so emotional and fills me with joy," Pinto wrote at the time. “It also gives this sleep deprived Mama a break and you have no idea how much I appreciate that! I am so grateful and in love with how we do life together. Love you madly. Rumi-Ray you are one lucky boy!”

After welcoming their son, Pinto and Tran have been learning how to work together to care for their child.

Bathtime is [dad] Cory’s favorite routine and Rumi responds beautifully. I try not to interfere there because they are creating their own relationship. Pinto and her husband have many hobbies, including traveling. They have visited and documented trips to destinations like London, Marfa and Big Sur on their social media accounts.
Beyond his travels with Pinto, Tran makes a point to enjoy the outdoors as much as he can with loved ones. His good friend, professional ice hockey player and travel influencer Brooks Laich, is a frequent companion on these excursions. The two of them traveled through Yosemite and documented theirthree-day adventure on YouTube.
“It is almost a meditation for me,” Tran said of hiking. “I need to be outside hiking, climbing, adventuring, because that is what makes me feel at peace. That is what makes me feel calm.”
