James Van Der Beek’sdaughter is following in his footsteps!
In the video, the proud dad takes his viewers behind the scenes of filming the show, giving a tour of his daughter’s dressing room, posting footage of her singing on stage and including photos of the two from the special experience.

“When I was 15, I first told my mom I wanted to audition professionally. She didn’t hold me back. She took me to NYC, and she walked me through it,” Van Der Beek began his caption.
“So when the opportunity to do#WeAreFamilyFoxcame up and my 13 year-old lit up like a carbon copy of me at that age… I let her put herself on tape. I got her some voice lessons. And I walked her through it,” he said.
Van Der Beek shares his six kids — Jeremiah, 2, Gwendolyn, 5, Emilia, 7, Annabel, 10, Joshua, 11, and Olivia — with wife Kimberly.
In September, theDawson’s Creekalumcelebrated Olivia’s 13th birthdaywith a special tribute on his Instagram.
“Cannot BELIEVE it’s been 13 years… It feels like yesterday I was staring into your little bassinet in the hospital, beyond exhausted, but unable to close my eyes and stop looking at you - and realizing I’d never be able to communicate just how cool it was to have a little you,” he wrote.
“Humbled and honored to be your dad. And I’ll always be your#1fan,” he wrote later in the post. “Happy birthday, my TEENAGER 😳❤️.”
