Sometimes , life gives you lemons . And then sometimes , it gives you Sir Richard Branson dress as a mermaid , gazing gayly at the camera as if to say , “ My womb-to-tomb dream was not , in fact , to become an obscenely moneyed entrepreneur , but rather to enjoy in shallow waters with my fellow merpeople . ”
Branson himself twinge out the picture to begin with today , committal to writing , “ Why am I dressed as a mermaid , you take ? ” Why , indeed !

As he explain in ablog post , he did it to raise awareness forWorld Oceans Day , a “ global solemnisation ” of ocean held on June 8th .
“ Why do I care about the ocean ? ” Branson , who is worth anestimated $ 5.4 billion , wrote . “ My place , Necker Island , is surround by the most beautiful grim sea full of uncanny and wonderful wildlife . ” Same !

Attempting to draw attention to thevariouscrisesfacingthe mankind ’s oceans is a noble grounds . That does not prevent this mermaid photo from being fucking outlandish , though .
But wait ! There ’s more ! turn out Sir Richard has quite the story of dressing up , and he’smighty proud of it .
Here he is lop up as an AirAsia flight attendant :

And what the Associated Press describes as an “ Indian groom wear a traditional toque ” :
And a sea robber :
And a St. Bridget :

And the Easter Bunny , which resembles the Donny Darko coney more than anything else :
The mermaid is still my best-loved , though , and at least now Branson has an answer to hisquestion .
