Heidi Klumsure knows how to pull offanyHalloween costume.
While her getups — including Shrek, a cadaver, the “Thriller” werewolf and Jessica Rabbit (just to name a few)— have reached next-level status in recent years, thanks to her team of special effects professionals and seasoned makeup artists, theAmerica’s Got Talent Judgewas, at one point, the creator of her own hair-raising disguises.
“For the first, I want to say, six or seven years of my Halloween parties, I always did my own hair and makeup,” Klum revealed on herAmazon Live Halloween Hotlinelivestream, during which she shared her spooky season essentials and answered fan-submitted questions about her annual bash.

She went on to clarify exactly which ”crazy” looks received the do-it-yourself treatment.
(While on the set of her PEOPLE StyleWatch 2023 cover shoot, Klum also revealed that she once did makeup on her ex-husband Sealwho accompanied Klum on the red carpet dressed up as Eve that year.)
On Amazon Live, Klum said that she loves thinking outside of the box and encouraged viewers to do the same. “Use your imagination,” she said. “I think that’s what makes Halloween so fun. Even though you buy an item or a costume online or whatever, you don’t want everyone to look the same.”

Klum is so involved with her Halloween costumes that it’s no wonder she experiences “sleepless nights” while figuring out how to top her last. “I always try to find things that people naturally wouldn’t do,” Klum previously told PEOPLE. “Most people do nurses or police officers, but I was always looking for something that I hadn’t seen.”

As of last year, that includedfisherman’s bait, which she seriously nailed in a head-to-toe costume made with a curved worm head and long tail. (Her husbandTom Kaulitzwas the bloody-eye fisher.)

Klum hinted that her costume this year will surmount to something big. “My goal is to not let any of my Halloween fans down," she said.
