Juniper Research thinks the mart for WiFi VOIP phones will be deserving $ 70 Billion by 2012 , but most of the headphone will be WiFi / Cellular hybrid . And the WiFi - only phones will go the way of the dodo .

I ’d always recall the WiFi / Skype phones would be a destructive force in the telecom world . But the meantime introduce when using them to call ground lines add microsecond build up between queries and response . It ’s enough to make every call to feel like that one prison term you spoke dirty goose egg into the phone to your girlfriend , who actually turned out to be your girlfriend ’s mum . At least , that ’s how it goes with Skype … and me .
So now , even in WiFi blanketed orbit , it ’s just easier to keep my cell close by , and habituate up the free minute I already have allocated .
