A adult male has been killed by a lion he kept as a pet in a cage in his backyard in the eastern Czech Republic .
Michal Prasek was happen mauled to death in the John Cage after an on-going conflict with local government and residents about keeping big cats on his attribute . Prasek ’s father found him in the cage that was locked from the inside .
Prasek , who was 33 , brought the 9 - year - one-time lion from Slovakia in 2016 , reportsReuters . He bought a distaff lion last year , for breed aim , keeping them both in separate homemade enclosures on his property in Zdechov , despite being abnegate provision permission for the envelopment and fined for illegal breeding .
A deadlock was get through with the authorities , however , after he decline to let them onto his property . A deficiency of evidence of animal cruelty , and the failure to find suitable alternate facility to move the cats to , think of the fauna could n’t be forcibly dispatch .
Prasek uploaded hundreds of photos and videos of the lions onto hisFacebook page , many featuring him up closely and personal with the creature . That he enjoy them is obvious , but keeping the fauna cooped up in homemade pens and illegally cover them is not the right way to show it .
Both beast were shot by the police on reaching at the scene . A police voice told local media that the shootings were " necessary for them to get to the human beings , " theBBC reports . It appear he was maul after letting himself into the Leo ’s cage , though it ’s not open how it locked behind him .
" Today ’s incident will perhaps finally help to resolve this retentive - term job , " Zdechov ’s city manager Tomas Kocourek said .
Mr Prasek also made headlines last class in a bizarre story involving a bicyclist who collide with the lioness as Prasek was taking her for a manner of walking on a leash . The incident was record by local constabulary as a " dealings stroke " .
It would be well-to-do to make a joke out of this story , as others have done , but the fact is a man and two lions are now dead . How many story like this will it take for people to realize the illegal pet craft is illegal for a grounds , large cats are not pets , and wild animals should betreated with caution .
Liking Facebook pages , Instagram Post , andYouTube videosof hoi polloi interacting with animals like big cats without jibe the source or position of the animals – are they rescued , in a reserve or rehabilitation center etc ? – only encourage people to keep doing this .
