Every film director has his or her owndistinct optical climate , but does that humour extend to what types of look they cast ? base on data drive through a facial acknowledgement algorithm , these images shows us the conglomeration of every face shew in a handful of blockbuster from the past few years . As you might guess , Avatar is very … blue .

The serial , Portrait , come courtesy of Seoul - based studioShinseungback Kimyonghun , a duo of two artists we wrote about earlier this class when they used facial recognition software to spotfaces in the clouds . Like that project , Portrait uses an OpenCV algorithm to detect when a face appear on the screen ( facing forward ) during each film . Then , Shinseungback Kimyonghun compiled the frames ( of which there are thousands , obviously ) into a single image , which they cover onto a monochromatic background signal .
