It ’s kind of surprising that it ’s have this long for us to get here , but DMG Entertainment has bought the right to well - betray fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson ’s Cosmere books . All of them . And it looks like we ’re not go to have to hold off that long to see them in theater .
For those not in the know , Sanderson ’s Cosmere book are n’t a traditional series of novel . They ’re all interconnected and take seat in the same universe , but they ’re not as clearly related as a series of Word of God following one plot and one group of fictional character is . Which makes them both a big holding to accommodate ( people can probably jump in on every movie ) and a hard one ( translating those subtler connection to from Thomas Nelson Page to screen ) .
DMG is n’t model on these rights at all . According toVariety , DMG is tight - tracking The Way of king and rent Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan ( Saws IV through Final Chapter ) to write the book .

Sanderson is ostensibly happy with the deal , saying that the multitude from DMG are fans and , “ From the first moment we meet , I have it off they understood my vision and goal for the Cosmere , and I ’ve been excited to work with them in bringing their visual sense for the macrocosm to the screen . ” He also add this on Twitter :
Here ’s some movie news that has been a long sentence number . I ’m thrilled to be cultivate with DMG.https://t.co/g3UwDWfnaY
