AndorSeason 2 Was Inspired by a Mystery Summer Blockbuster

Three weeksstill remain in Andorseason one but the creative activity ofseason two is well underway . Showrunner Tony Gilroy and his team are toilsome at work begin quick to take the show ’s last 12 instalment — and in a novel interview , the military personnel behind Rogue One and Michael Clayton offered up avery tantalizing teaser .

talk toScript Magazine , Gilroy revealed that a late Hollywood film — and , more specifically , that picture show ’s trailer — revolutionize him and his squad in prep for Andor season two . “ We ’re doing something in time of year two that we ’re prepping that ’s very complicated , ” Gilroy said . “ And there ’s a movie that just came out over the summertime , in fact , it came out as a poke and then … And everybody on this thing was like buzzing like , ‘ Oh my God , see at that , look how they did this matter , ’ and it ’s like … it goes like a computer virus to the stunt section , and the visual effect department is like , ‘ Hey man , how do they do this ? ’ And then ‘ God , did you see it ? ’ And it ’s a pass - around thing . ”

Gilroy was n’t ask what picture show he was talk about but the first one that come to head was Michael Bay ’s Ambulance . Bay used gamey - focal ratio trailer blastoff flying through cities in ways that few , if any , other major films have done . Another hypothesis is Top Gun : Maverick and the way that film shoots actors fly in the aviation . We are n’t sure but betting odds are he ’s not talk about something that ’s a straight visual effect . That ’s not Andor ’s style .
